Thanks for visiting my website.
My new novel Dunces Anonymous is winning rave reviews from well-known children’s authors!
Gordon Korman, author of more than 65 books for kids (including my personal favourite, This Can’t be Happening at Macdonald Hall) sent me an email recently, praising the book for its “spot-on plotting and great cast of characters.” Thanks, Gordon!
And Tim Wynne-Jones, winner of multiple Governor General’s Literary Awards, calls the book “clever and hilarious.” He wrote the great blurb that you’ll find on the back cover.
However, in the interests of journalistic fairness, I will also mention that my book just got a lousy review in CM magazine, by Michelle Superle, who teaches in the Children’s Studies Program at York University. She calls it a “schlocky school story” marred by “ideological paradoxes and superficiality.” OUCH!
I hope you’ll read Dunces Anonymous (as well as my previous book, Slam Dunk). On the “Books” page, you’ll find links to download the first chapters for free, and to order the books from Amazon.com. Feel free to send me your comments via the email link on the “About Me” page.
Now, I’ve got to get back to writing my next book, a mystery/adventure about an 18-year-old newspaper reporter who’s chasing a story about an endangered sea turtle, when a suspicious shooting and a connection to an unsolved murder warn her of evil doings beneath the surface . . .
